Quantum Entanglement

Louise DiLenge

Exotic portent—
a pair of particles
share the same existence.

Tandem fates mingle,
inseparable whole.

What touches one—
stirs the other—
regardless of distance between.

Observing scientists shrug,
uncertain how it works.

Einstein derides—
"Spukhafte Fernwirkung"
"Spooky action at a distance.”

More emotional than physical,
attraction more of mind than matter.

A matter of the heart?

The heart is a muscular organ,
behind and slightly left of the sternum.

But, what of love?

Inexplicable attraction—
circling, signaling, coupling impossibly.
yearning toward one another.

MIT wizards stir
six-hundred-year-old starlight.

Trace ancient quasars—
luminous galactic nuclei arrows—
correlating energy in space time.

Micro, mezzo, macro
dancers spinning through infinity.

Erotic portent—
a pair of particles, people, planets
share the same existence.

One step closer
to the Big Bang.

The Science

Quantum Entanglement examines parallels of energetic connection from molecular, human and galactic perspective. Micro, mezzo and macro: vital forces share finite elements, embody varying forms, share inexplicable connection, and echo interaction. I contemplate: Where do we begin? End? What is love? Soul? Our place in the infinity of space and time?
