Sentiments in theory – becoming
Yemurai Chaza
The craters within me shift.
There is a gap.
We lean, like seasons, into a cycle of continuity,
where beginnings and endings are one in the same,
struggle.
We are here
because of friction.
We meet with words between ideas and theory,
to find facts.
We are ever evolving creatures, cautious by nature;
but curious.
There is purpose to competition –
it is essential for survival.
Time in itself is a constant,
so too is the essence of
who and what we are
in many moments of strength, rooted in
struggle.
The Science
This poem is inspired by human nature and evolution. It is a reflection of human thought and explores the definition of struggle in the context of evolution and human experiences. The essence of the constant push and pull of competition for survival and adaptation to change which essential to the survival of many species including humans, is reflected through this piece. This poem was inspired by internal conflict, during character defining experiences and changes that were/are essential to the evolution of self.
